Chris Rock’s ‘Saw’ Reboot Moves Up 5 Months to May 2020 Release
Chris Rock’s “Saw” reboot will slash into theaters five months earlier, with Lionsgate announcing Monday a May 15, 2020 release in the height of the summer season.

The film, starring Rock and Samuel L. Jackson, had previously been set for release on October 23, 2020. It will now face off against Warner Bros.’ animated reboot “Scooby.”

Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures are releasing the re-imagined take on the franchise about a serial killer named Jigsaw who traps his victims in a labyrinth of games, puzzles and traps as the helpless victims fight for their survival.

Darren Lynn Bousman, who directed three of the “Saw” installments,” will direct. Pete Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg wrote the screenplay.

In the new film, Rock will play a police detective investigating a series of grizzly crimes, and Samuel L. Jackson will play Rock’s father. Minghella will play William Schenk,

Natalie Portman Says She’ll Get “Jacked” To Play The New Goddess Of Thunder In ‘Thor 4’

Natalie Portman Says She’ll Get “Jacked” To Play The New Goddess Of Thunder In ‘Thor 4’
You can argue that one of the biggest “gets” for the Marvel Cinematic Universe during the early stages of its film industry domination was landing Natalie Portman to co-star with relative unknown Chris Hemsworth in 2011’s “Thor.” She would then stick around for the second film, ‘Dark something-or-another’ (desperately trying to forget it). However, since then, films have mentioned Portman’s Jane Foster, but have yet to show her again.

Drop Dead Gorgeous at 20: how dark pageant comedy works better in 2019

The pitch-black small-town mockumentary was a flop on release and left critics cold but 20 years later its vicious indecency remains daring

Drop Dead Gorgeous is one of my favourite films. It also made less than its $15m budget at the box office and only has a 45% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Jesus loves winners, as Gladys Leeman tells her daughter Becky, but I do understand why Drop Dead Gorgeous was not triumphant when it was released 20 years ago. Shot as a mockumentary, and indebted to John Waters and Christopher Guest, it follows a group of young, wannabe high school beauty queens as they compete in the Sarah Rose Cosmetics Mount Rose American Teen Princess pageant. Its humour is crude, its message is anarchic, its bite is vicious and its jokes don’t so much stretch the boundaries of taste as tap-dance all over them in a mortuary.

How we made Moon –?by Sam Rockwell and Duncan Jones

We were concerned the audience wouldn’t know which clone was which. We talked about using a wig, but I stole Ratso Rizzo’s cough for the sick clone

I wanted Sam Rockwell to play the villain in Mute, a film I later made for Netflix. But he wanted to play a blue-collar kind of guy. We both liked the sci-fi films of the 70s and early 80s – Silent Running, Alien, Outland – and the sense of realism and mundanity they brought to space, with a lot of the day-to-day grind comparable to jobs on Earth. So I said: “Let me see if I can write something.”
